Patriots rookie receiver Kayshon Boutte took to social media to comment on his dismal performance against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“You live and you learn, it’s part of the game, but it happens. Only up from here tho," Boutte said via Instagram.

Boutte collected zero receptions on four targets in his NFL debut. Two of Boutte's failed targets came on crucial plays, and Boutte was at fault for both of them.
His first mistake occurred in the early third quarter on third down. Mac Jones threw a perfect back shoulder ball to Boutte on the sideline, but the rookie failed to get both of his feet in bounds, and the Patriots were forced to punt.

Boutte's second mistake occurred on the game's most important play with 27 seconds left in the game when the Patriots were down 25-20.
On 4th and 11 at the Philadelphia 20, Mac Jones threw another perfect pass to Boutte on the sideline, which was initially ruled as a catch. Upon closer inspection by the officiating team, however, it was ruled that Boutte did not get two feet in bounds, and the Patriots turned the ball over.
Boutte's grim performance came as a surprise. The former LSU star shined during training camp practices and preseason, which is why he had high expectations heading into his first game.
Boutte's chance to bounce back will be against the Miami Dolphins at 8:20 p.m. EST next Sunday.
